New Virtual Geoboard Tool

MLC announces the release of another free, virtual manipulative, the Geoboard App. Students stretch bands around pegs to form line segments and polygons and make discoveries about perimeter, area, congruence, fractions, and more.

CCSS-Aligned Assessments

This is a time of great challenge and transition as we embark on implementing Common Core State Standards with Bridges. Currently, we have Supplements and related Unit Planners and Pacing Guides, Practice Books, Resource & Tech Links, and ASSESSMENTS!

Summer Workshops with MLC

Looking out my window, summer seems far off...but in actuality, it's just around the corner! Are you ready to start making some plans?

This summer, The Math Learning Center offers many open enrollment workshops. Offerings include a variety of Bridges classes as well as Algebra Through Visual Patterns.

Website Reorganization

You may have noticed some changes in the website. The "Support for Bridges" section has been reorganized to better meet the needs of Bridges users. When you visit Support for Bridges you'll see a menu on the left with several new features:

Bridges Resources in Spanish

Many Bridges components are available in Spanish. All student materials have been translated and are found in pdf format on the data disk that comes with Bridges classroom kits. Some student books are located on the MLC website for free download.  Select titles are also available in consumable, preprinted format.

New Links to Additional Resources

A variety of wonderful resources complement Bridges, including many that have been highlighted in this blog; some contributed by readers. Recently we decided it might be helpful to make resource collections available, organized by grade level and tied directly to Bridges Units and Number Corner months. This work is well underway and we will continue to build and refine the collections over time.

Calling for Student Contributions

Do you have a budding writer in your classroom? A student who would like to share an experience with Bridges? Perhaps he'd like to post a work sample along with a reflection? Or maybe she has a question for other Bridges classrooms? If you have a student who would like to contribute to the Bridges blog, please contact us. We'd love to hear from students.
